Tests for compliance with the requirements of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of information technology equipment (ITE), which include telecommunication and radio communication equipment, are associated with significant technological features, and not all accredited laboratories are actually able to conduct these tests to the full extent. This is particularly true for radio equipment.
The main difficulty lies in creating operating modes of radio communication equipment during tests and evaluating performance criteria. In particular, this applies to tests of radio communication means for resistance to electromagnetic interference. The most difficult case is perhaps the testing of radio communication equipment for resistance to the effects of radio frequencies of the electromagnetic field in the range from 30 MHz to 6 GHz.
Test requirements are regulated by ETSI 301 489-1 standards, which are accepted as national and interstate, in many countries, including the Russian Federation and Belarus. Their total number is more than 40 and they are included in the list of interconnected standards for TR CU 020/2011 and are mandatory for compliance throughout the EAEU.
